INSTRUCTIONS FOR ORAL PRESENTERS
ORAL PRESENTATION INFORMATION
Speakers’ Slide Upload
Speakers and oral presenters are requested to upload PowerPoint slide presentations at the AV station at the back of your session hall at least 2 hours prior to your session. There will be a technician available to assist you during the following hours.
Thursday, 18 August 2016 08:00 – 17:00 (workshops slide upload directly in halls, advance upload for 19-21 Aug presentations – at AV station beside the registration)
Friday, 19 August 2016 07:00 – 18:40 (AV station in your session hall)
Saturday, 20 August 2016 07:00 – 17:30 (AV station in your session hall)
Sunday – 21 August 2016 07:00 – 16:30 (AV station in your session hall)
Please bring your PowerPoint presentation on USB Memory stick and upload it at the AV station in your session hall at least 2 hours before the start of your session.
Please prepare your power point slides in a standard 4:3 format.
Note- the number of computers available for uploading your slides is limited, therefore it is advised to upload your slides as soon as possible, as there may be a wait.
Although not recommended, you may supply your own laptop computer. In such a case please confirm that it has a suitable VGA socket for external signal. Please come to check it as soon as you arrive in the session hall where your lecture is taking place during the coffee or lunch break prior to your session.
Length of presentation As an Abstract Oral Presenter, you will be allocated 10 minutes for your presentation this includes
2 minutes for questions and answers (total of 10 minutes for each presenter).
Kindly remember when preparing your PowerPoint slides, that the font size should be large enough so that when projected it can be seen from the rear of the session hall. Please also remember that your PowerPoint slide presentation should be prepared in a landscape format and NOT Portrait.
If combining video films with PowerPoint, please make sure to check it in the session hall where your lecture is taking place during a coffee or lunch break prior to your session at least 30 minutes before the start of the session.
Please note that the congress computers in the session halls are being supplied with Office 2013 (at least).
PLEASE BRING A HARD COPY BACK-UP OF YOUR PRESENTATION WITH YOU.
Important note for Macintoch users:
In order to use MAC presentations on a PC compatible computer please note that you need to prepare it according to the instructions below:
Alternatively you may use your own Macintosh laptop computer. In such a case please provide it with a VGA adaptor for external signal, advise the operators in the AV station in your session hall about it as soon as you arrive and later on test it in the session hall where your lecture is taking place during the coffee or lunch break prior to your session, at least 30 minutes before the start of the session.
Please note that VHS Video projection, 35 mm’ slide projection and Overhead projection (projection of transparencies) will not be available.
